Tai Murray & Martin Roscoe

Tuesday 31th May

Tai Murray brings her ‘technically flawless’ (Muso) playing to Romantic sonatas and 21st-century minimalism in an evening bridging the past and the present with pianist Martin Roscoe.

Diving from Clara Schumann’s reassuringly lyrical 3 Romances to the driving force of John Adams’s Road Movies, or from Arvo Pärt’s gradually evolving Passacaglia back to Schubert’s melodic Violin Sonata, won’t be easy. But Tai Murray has thought it through: ‘The question that inspired the programme is “Repetition, or is it?”. Each of the pieces provides a clear commentary on the others’.

Following on from her performance in our 2020 Beethoven Weekender, we’ll be seeing more from Tai Murray, whose star is already shining brightly. ‘Her action is like a magnet that pulls in the listener’ said Seen and Heard International. Come and feel her force for yourself.
