Saturday 10 February

Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick goes live with his STR4TA project, originally produced and founded with Gilles Peterson, bringing the classic sound of Brit funk into the 21st century.

Bringing a fresh slant to the sound first developed by the likes of Atmosfear, Hi-Tension, Light of the World and Freeez the band, led by Incognito bandleader “Bluey”, harks back to the loose, protean energy of the early-80s scene.

Their album Aspects and STR4TASFEAR captures the raw, punchy, nostalgic rhythms of the original scene whilst continuing to move forward with the sound. This is pure dancefloor energy perfect for a Saturday night.
