Brighton & Hove Black History invites you to a special evening of online talks on Zoom, which unveils the story of an African slave boy Thomas Highflyer rescued from a slave dhow on the coast of the Indian Ocean in East Africa.

The talk will follow the journey of the boy from his rescue to his life as a pupil in a Brighton school and the legacy of his life, with the restoration of his grave through a special project by Brighton & Hove Black History volunteers.

The talk will be narrated by Black History Historians and Researchers Dr Bert Williams MBE and Suchi Chatterjee.
