SKIN DEEP Sonic Transmissions: Roxanne Tataei

21 Sep 2019

Meet the music of South-London musician Roxanne Tataei at an exclusive world premiere of one-off project FATO, featuring a listening session, interview and live performance.

The fantastical neo-Operetta tells a story of tragic forbidden love. Bringing together old and new worlds, it combines operatic arias and new interpretations of music from Tataei’s album Full Moon in Aries.

Tataei’s recent work has included projects with avant-garde mavericks Mica Levi, Dean Blunt (ICA, London, 2017), Curl, and Lord Tusk, as well as a special performance/installation with Afro-portraitist Hamed Maiye, commissioned by the V&A Museum in collaboration with i-D Magazine (2018), and a sold-out headline show at the Royal Albert Hall.

In the coming months she is releasing more album visuals, tracks with Dean Blunt and Lord Tusk, and staging one-off live performances.

This event is part of the Sonic Transmissions series curated and hosted by Skin Deep, taking place across three different venues in London over three weeks in September.
